I don’t even know where to start. Today was absolutely incredible. There are many words that can try to describe this city, but none of them can come close to the brilliance and magnificence of this Holy Land. Today we woke up and toured our area (downtown Jerusalem) and then went for a tour of the Tower of David. This site was spectacular! I was so overwhelmed just by being there after 3 hours that I started to get a headache because it was so much to take in. Between the knowledge of our tour guide, Sarah, and the fact that I was really there, I felt like I didn’t know what to do with myself. All I wanted to do was sit and stare and meditate on the amazing things that were taking place right before my very eyes.
After going to the Tower of David we went and got lunch. The next thing we did was a site I have wanted to see for years-The Wailing (Western) Wall. Just seeing it in person was phenomenal and when I actually went up to it to pray, I was speechless. I thought to myself, “Am I really here?” The only thing I could think of was, “God, you are so awesome and incredible.” Looking at this wall, I was in awe. You see so many things on television all the time, but being there in real life is something completely different, something inspiring. Then we went up the wall further and were able to over look the city and the Mount of Olives. If I were to leave tomorrow, I would still be a happy man. Today alone blew my mind and I can’t wait to see what God has in store for the next 5 weeks!
